While the greening of economies presents challenges, it also offers considerable potential for job creation, a matter of urgency in countries struggling to recover from the global economic crisis and to address longer-term employment concerns. The development of skills for green jobs is crucial to ensuring an efficient transition to a green economy by matching supply and demand for skills. It is also vital in helping workers adjust to a rapidly changing workplace.
